The swing verve of the close harmony trio LES BABETTES finally meets the captivating sound of THE 1000 STREETS’ ORCHESTRA big band, for a musical show full of liveliness and elegance.
Since 2013 Les Babettes female vocal trio – Chiara Gelmini, Anna De Giovanni, Eleonora Lana – has walked on many and important stages such as EXPO Milan, Umbria Jazz, The Artistic Voice Ravenna, X Factor Italy, theatres and swing festivals in Italy and other countries. The trio participated to many programs broadcasted both on radio channels (Radio Deejay, Radio 105, Radio RAI Fvg) and tv channels (Arté, Sky, Cielo, Sky Arte).
The 1000 Streets' Orchestra, directed by the dynamic M° Walter Grison, was founded in 2015. It is active in northeastern Italy and Slovenia and has already performed in theatre shows such as Goodbye Trieste and in festivals (Lakeness, Lunatico, Music Feast in Marano Lagunare). Moreover it is the promoter of the first Big Band Festival of the region Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The two formations met on the stage of Theatre Politeama Rossetti in June 2017. The merger of the twenty big band's young talented musicians playing in smoking with the three interpreters of a classic retrò swing resulted in a unique show, which captivates the audience with its immediate visual and sound impact. Swing classics – such as “Bei mir bist du schein”, and “Sing sing sing”- originally performed by big bands and female vocal trios in the ‘30s, are brought back to life in this unforgettable show, that will make the audience experience an authentic night from the golden age of swing.
